Bursztyn ( jantar ) - kamień organiczny jest zastygłą żywicą drzew iglastych, porastających tereny dzisiejszej Europy północnej i środkowej.
Najlepiej szukać bursztynu tuż po sztormie! Szczególnie w wodorostach zaplątują się małe bursztynowe bryłki. Na świecie istnieje ponad 60 gatunków bursztynu. Najbardziej ceniony jest bursztyn poławiany metodą tradycyjną. W ten sposób można znaleźć wyjątkowe okazy, ważące blisko 1kg. Największym okazem znalezionym w Polsce jest waży prawie 10 kg. Odnaleziono go w 1860 roku w okolicach Kamienia Pomorskiego.
